Chronic Pain Relief Hypnotherapy
Offered in Bellingham, WA, and online worldwide.
What if your pain has been trying to tell you something?
You've tried everything. You've seen the doctors, done the treatments, pushed through more days than you can count. And still, the pain persists - shaping your life, limiting what's possible, quietly wearing you down. If you're beginning to wonder whether this is simply how things are going to be, I want to offer you something different.
What most pain treatments don't address is this: the body and mind are not separate. Chronic pain is rarely just a physical event. For many people, it is deeply intertwined with the nervous system's response to stress, loss, trauma, or emotions that never fully found their way out. This doesn't mean the pain isn't real - it absolutely is. But it does mean there may be a layer of your experience that hasn't yet been reached.
Many of my clients arrive without any awareness of this connection. They come because the pain is unbearable, and nothing else has worked. What they discover , often with great surprise, is that when we gently begin to address what the body has been holding, the pain begins to shift in ways that nothing physical ever quite could.
Through the focused power of hypnosis, we work together to reach that deeper layer — helping your nervous system release what it's been carrying, so that real, lasting relief becomes possible, and life can begin to feel like yours again.
“The body holds what the mind has not yet been able to express.”
The emotional root of chronic pain
Research - and my own experience working with clients - points to something that conventional medicine often overlooks: chronic pain frequently has a significant emotional component.
When emotions like grief, fear, anger, shame, unresolved trauma don't have a safe outlet, the body often becomes their voice. Pain becomes the messenger. This is not weakness, and it is not "imagined." It is the body doing its best to communicate something important that hasn't yet been heard.
Pioneering physicians and researchers including Dr. John Sarno, Peter Levine, and Bessel van der Kolk have documented this connection extensively. Their work suggests that for many people, lasting relief comes not just from treating the body - but from gently addressing what the body is trying to say.
You may recognize yourself here:
Your pain intensifies during times of stress, conflict, or emotional pressure.
Tests and scans haven't fully explained the level of pain you're experiencing.
You have a history of trauma, loss, or chronic emotional stress.
You tend to put others first, suppress your own feelings, or struggle to express certain emotions.
You sense, somewhere, that there's more going on than just a physical problem.
If any of this resonates, hypnotherapy may offer a doorway that other approaches haven't - because it works at the level where these patterns are held: the subconscious mind and the nervous system.
How hypnotherapy helps with chronic pain
Chronic pain often involves the nervous system becoming sensitized - the brain's pain response gets stuck in the "on" position, sometimes long after any original injury has healed. Unprocessed emotion can both trigger and sustain this pattern.
Hypnotherapy works by creating a calm, focused state in which the analytical, critical mind softens — and the subconscious becomes receptive to new patterns. In this state, we can gently explore and release what the body has been holding, recalibrate the nervous system's response to pain, and begin to restore a felt sense of ease and safety.
This is not about bypassing or suppressing emotion. It is about creating the conditions for those emotions to be safely acknowledged, expressed, and released — so the body no longer needs to carry them.
“As I have been navigating my health challenges, Laura came highly recommended by a friend who thought hypnotherapy could benefit me.
To say that these sessions have been successful and helpful would be an understatement. They were all that and so much more. Laura truly took time to listen to my problems ... Her constant positivity, empathy and compassion were there to help every step of the way.
I am very grateful to have had Laura help me on this journey.”

My Chronic Pain Relief Program
I offer chronic pain hypnotherapy in Bellingham, WA and online worldwide via Zoom.
Chronic pain — especially when it has an emotional dimension — is rarely something that shifts in a single session. The patterns held in the nervous system and the subconscious mind have often been there for years, even decades. Real, lasting change requires time, consistency, and depth.
This is why I work with chronic pain clients through a dedicated program rather than one-off sessions. Each session builds on the last — creating a cumulative process of release, recalibration, and integration that simply isn't possible when sessions are scattered or approached casually. The program is the work. The commitment you make to it is a commitment to yourself.
Clients who invest fully in this process — who show up consistently and allow the work to unfold over time — are the ones who experience the most profound and lasting shifts. Many describe a turning point somewhere in the middle of the program: a moment when they realize something has genuinely changed.
What the program includes:
A structured, personalized journey, not a series of standalone sessions.
Duration
2–3 months of dedicated, consistent work together. For some, this is just the right amount. Others may choose to continue to work together over a longer period.
Sessions
6–9 sessions, spaced to allow integration between each one
What we do
Hypnosis, emotional exploration, nervous system practices — tailored entirely to you
Between sessions
Custom audio recordings and supportive tools to keep the work alive day-to-day

My commitment to you
Ongoing attunement to your progress — this is a relationship, not a formula
Is this program right for you?
This program is best suited to people who are ready to commit — not just to attending sessions, but to engaging with the deeper process of change. If you are looking for a quick fix or a passive treatment, this may not be the right fit. But if you are genuinely ready to explore what your body has been holding, and to invest in lasting relief, I would love to work with you.
If you are already working with a doctor, pain specialist, or therapist, this program often complements that care beautifully. I encourage you to continue any medical treatment you are receiving.
You don't have to keep managing this alone.
A complimentary clarity call is a safe, no-pressure space to talk about your pain, explore what might be beneath it, and see whether this program feels like the right fit for you. I look forward to connecting with you!
“Pain is not just a sensation — it is an experience, shaped by memory, emotion, expectation, and meaning.”
