Laura Callahan
Licensed Massage Therapist
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
I’ve been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1994, and over the years, my work has evolved into something much deeper than just relieving tension. I specialize in injury treatment, sports massage, and therapeutic work, but what I really do is help people feel at home in their bodies again.
My path into bodywork began after earning my degree in Psychology, when I felt a strong pull toward a more hands-on way of helping people heal. I’ve always been drawn to the connection between the mind and body -how what we carry emotionally can show up physically, often without us even realizing it.
You may have heard the phrase, “we hold our issues in our tissues.” I see that every day in my work. Pain, tightness, chronic patterns - they’re not random. They’re your body’s way of communicating.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I approach each session with care, presence, and deep respect for your nervous system. My goal is not just to “fix” something, but to create a space where your body can begin to soften, release, and reset in its own way.
You’re in a safe space on my table.
Outside of my practice, I like to stay active and spend time outdoors - playing pickleball, walking the dogs, biking, hiking, swimming in the bay, and dancing when I can! Moving my body is an important part of how I take care of myself, and it’s something I genuinely value.
I am now accepting Labor and Industries (L&I) injury claims!

“I found Laura through her website, taking a chance on a massage therapist I knew nothing about. After my first session, it was clear to me that Laura has ‘the magic touch’! I am very happy to have found her, and have continued to receive massages from Laura for more than two years now. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking exceptional massage work. She gives you 110%! ”

My Practice
Over the years, I’ve trained in and integrated a wide range of massage techniques. Rather than working within just one style, I tailor each session to what your body actually needs in the moment.
Every person — and every body — is different. Some sessions may be more focused and therapeutic, while others are slower and more restorative. Often, it’s a blend of both.
Below is an overview of some of the modalities I draw from in my work, along with a list of the conditions I commonly treat.
Deep tissue
This is probably the type of massage you hear about most. When muscles have been tight or injured for a long time, they can develop areas of restriction that limit movement and cause pain.
Deep tissue work uses slow, focused pressure to help release those deeper layers of tension, improve circulation, and restore more ease in the body. It can be more intense at times, but it’s always done with care and communication.
Swedish
These are the classic, flowing strokes most people associate with massage. I use Swedish techniques to warm up the muscles, help your body relax, and create a smooth transition between deeper or more focused work.
Neuromuscular therapy
By definition, NMT is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system.
Myofacial Release techniques
This work focuses on the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports everything in your body. When fascia becomes tight or restricted, it can affect movement and create discomfort.
Through slow, sustained techniques, I help restore elasticity and allow the body to move more freely again.
Arvigo® Abdominal Therapy (also called Maya Abdominal Therapy)
I’ve been a Certified Arvigo® Therapist since 2010. This gentle, non-invasive technique focuses on the abdomen and pelvis, helping to support the natural position and function of the internal organs.
It can improve circulation, lymph flow, and overall organ function, while also addressing both physical and emotional holding patterns in the body. Although the abdomen is the focus, the session often includes full-body work for integration.

Reflexology
Reflexology works with the feet as a reflection of the whole body. By applying pressure to specific points, it can support relaxation, improve circulation, and help ease tension throughout the body.
And honestly — it just feels really good to have your feet cared for.
Polarity Therapy
This is a gentle, energy-based approach that helps support the natural flow of energy in the body. When that flow is disrupted, it can show up as tension or discomfort.
Polarity work is deeply calming and can help your system settle, reset, and come back into balance.
Treatments with Laura
Therapeutic Massage - This is my signature treatment where I incorporate deep tissue, NMT, and any other modality that will most serve you. I offer this in 60 or 90 minute sessions. For a full body massage, 90 minutes is recommended, especially if you have specific areas of the body that need in depth attention.
Pregnancy Massage - I love providing massage for pregnant women, and have done so for over 25 years. The benefits of massage during pregnancy are too numerous to mention! I see women throughout all trimesters.
Sports Massage - My work with athletes has ranged from amateurs and weekend warriors to those competing on the professional and olympic level. If you need specific and detailed work on certain parts of your body, book this treatment!
Maya Abdominal Therapy - This is a specific series of treatments (minimum 3 sessions) that can be extremely beneficial for women with fertility and/or menstrual cycle issues, as well as digestive issues.
Foot Reflexology - If you LOVE having special attention given to your feet, you will love this treatment. 60 minutes includes an aromatherapy foot bath.

How can I assist you?
“I highly recommend Laura for massage therapy. I have been seeing Laura for shoulder issues that I have been dealing with for over two years. I had been to PT and was doing the exercises given to me but they just were not addressing the pain. After my first treatment with Laura, I could feel a difference and slept that night for the first time in over a year without pain in my shoulders. I have continued to work with Laura who has not only helped with my shoulder issues but with my ribs that would dislocate during certain movements in yoga and every day life. Laura is so knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. I will continue to work with Laura and this aging body of mine.”
